Why drain a pool? 

There are multiple reasons. Some include poor water quality, due to an overabundance of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), or high levels of Cynaric Acid (CYA),  high Calcium Hardness, or severe algae is the most common reason for needing to drain a pool. Even with proper and regular pool maintenance, it's often necessary to drain your pool — either completely or partially — every 3-5 years with fresh water.

If  your pool chemicals are not balanced, they can actually start to damage the pool itself. Over time, the chemicals can eat away at the pool’s plaster, leading it to deteriorate. If this occurs, you will be forced to replace the plaster – a large and expensive undertaking. In addition, unbalanced chemicals can corrode other parts of the pool. Unbalanced chemicals can also be hazardous to your health.
